A festival in which you can enjoy our famous oysters, Manila clams, and other local seafood over a charcoal grill while sitting under the blooming cherry blossoms in Nenohi Park. There are also various events held on Sundays, further adding to the lively atmosphere.
・ Akkeshi Oyster Grabbing
This is a popular event in which challengers put on a rubber glove and try to grab as many of Akkeshi’s large oysters that they can with one hand. Open to anyone in junior high school and older. Some people even manage to grab up to 5 or 6 at once.
・ Kiddie Clam Grabbing
An event aimed at young children in which they can dig both hands into a tank and pull out a hearty haul of large Manila clams. The sand has already been removed, so they’re ready to be grilled up right there at the venue! You can also take them home and add them to soup!
