  • Spring – Summer | May – June

    Clam Digging Experience
    Come and enjoy digging up Manila clams at Lake Akkeshi. These large-shelled clams keep coming up no matter how much you dig. A highly popular event among families.

    Bekanbeushi Wetland Canoe Tours
    Relaxed canoe tours through the Ramsar Convention registered Bekanbeushi Wetland. Become immersed in nature as you take in the clear air, the sound of the running river, and the chirping of wild birds.

    Akkeshi Distillery Tours
    The Akkeshi Distillery began making domestic whiskey in 2016. Visitors can take a tour of the distillation building and the aging warehouse, then enjoy a tasting session of whiskey and oysters.

    Smelt Ice Fishing at Bekanbeushi River※ Temporarily closed from Mar 1, 2026
    Come try out fishing on the Bekanbeushi River while it’s frozen over. You can enjoy catching smelt and frying them up on the spot. It’s a popular activity that can only be experienced in the harsh cold.
